In-line, 5 A and 20 A, bidirectional current sensors

This low current, bi-directional, in-line current is wired in series with the battery current (such as from a charger).

Its range may not be sufficient for much higher currents (such as to a load). In that case please see the cable mounted current sensors, with currents ranges of 50 to 600 A.

Because the desired cable length is not known a priori, the sensor comes with an unterminated cable. Use these instructions to terminate the cable in the field.

• Blue, 18 AWG: current to be sensed
• White (20 A) or gray (5 A), 18 AWG: current to be sensed
• Red: +5 V - connect to +5V, pin 7 on control connector of BMS controller
• Green: signal out - connect to SrcCur, pin 6 on control connector of BMS controller
• Black: ground - connect to Gnd, pin 1 on control connector of BMS controller
• (White: not used)

Discharge current must flow into the white wire and out of the blue wire.
