Board level, local HV Front End

Description

This optional, Remote High Voltage Front End, may be connected directly to a BMS controller, to add certain testing before turning on contactors:

• Absence of current leakage between battery and chassis
• Presence of battery voltage
• Contactors are operational
• End of precharge inrush current pulse

Includes a battery current sensor (except the 2HV0000B): 5, 20, 50, 100 or 200 A.

A separate HV Front End:

• Keeps the high voltage away from the BMS controller
• Keeps any electrical noise away from the BMS controller
• May simplify the layout of high voltage cabling

This Remote HV Front End communicates with the BMS controller through short, 8-wire cable (as opposed to the remote HVFEs - 2HR0xxxX - , which do so through the CAN bus).

Note that the 2CN0xxxH controllers already include a High Voltage Front End within their enclosures.
